Starting
with the
first
S.O.S
owned by
Charles
Degrazia,
to the
S.O.S.
of today
which is
operated
by his
son
Charles
McDonald,
(now
President
of
S.O.S.
Plumbing,
Heating
& Air
Conditioning,
Inc).
In the
beginning...
Charles
has been
a
plumber
since he
was 17
years
old,
learning
and
training
with his
father,
he took
his
skills
and
started
running
his own
truck at
age 19.
Soon
Charles
married
and
started
a
family,
he held
other
jobs
through
the
years,
but his
passion
has
always
been
plumbing,
and he
never
stopped
even
when he
worked
full
time
with an
airline
company.
Charles
still
saved
his
evenings
and
weekends
for his
'service calls'.
After
years of
hands on
experience
and his
father
and
wife’s
encouragement
Charles
opened
his own
business
in 1989.
That
same
year he
received
his
Contractors
State
License
for
plumbing;
(License
#576334),
and
later
added
heating
and air
conditioning.

After
awhile
Charles
quit his
job at
the
airline
and made
his
passion
for
plumbing
his
every
day job.
Once
Charles
had
started
to
operate
alone,
he
quickly
picked
up
clients
all over
the bay,
people
ask for
him by
name!
After a
few
years of
running
business’
side by
side,
Charles’
Father
decided
to
retire,
then in
2000
Charles
purchased
his
fathers
company,
and one year
and a
few
employee’s/family
members
later
Charles
decided
to
incorporate
his
family
owned
and
operated
business,
adding
Heating
and Air
conditioning
to the
company
name.
Today…
The
company
after
having
some ups
and
downs in
the past
is
picking
up and
rebuilding
the once
booming
(but
little)
business.
He has
his wife
Eileen,
and
daughter
Liz
running
the
office;
he is
the main
technician,
with
help
from his
son
Charles
on
weekends.
